EU Farm to Fork Strategy: Collective response from food sovereignty scholars
Academics from Centre for Agroecology and Water Resilience (CAWR) at Coventry University have together with a number of European academics who specialise in food sovereignty prepared a response to the EU Farm to Fork Strategy. Coventry University hosts a living lab “City Lab Coventry” which is a core member of ENoLL.
In their collective response the authors clarify the strengths and weaknesses of this new Strategy from a food sovereignty perspective and argue that it does not go far enough to ensuring diverse, sustainable and just food systems for all in the European Union and beyond.
The Farm to Fork Strategy for a fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly food system was released by the European Commission on 20 May 2020.
The scholars who responded to the strategy “acknowledge that the F2F Strategy contains many positive points, but are deeply concerned that these remain embedded in an outdated framework“.
