imec launches European networking hub
On Friday, 13 January imec, the world-leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technologies, that is hosting ENoLL headquarters office at its European floor held a reception to officially open its new networking hub at the VUB.
On Friday, 13 January imec, the world-leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technologies, that is hosting ENoLL headquarters office at its European floor held a reception to officially open its new networking hub at the VUB.
The guests listened to welcome words and presentation on nanoelectronics and digital technology accelerating disruptive innovation, Luc Van den hove (President & CEO imec) and Pieter Ballon who spoke about opportunities at imec Brussels networking hub and introduced the international organisations that are hosted by imec. Next to ENoLL, CreativeRing, Big Data Value Association (BDVA), Media Wijs and OASC (Open and Agile Smart Cities) are also headquartered at the imec European floor.

Rector of the Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Caroline Pauwels, closed the introduction session and welcomed the participants to joined the reception and tour areound the hub’s facilities where various demos were presented. Demos by ETRO included Showcasing HDR monitor vs regular screen, depth-based image adaption for curved screen displays, 3D vision and more.

The floor with its multidisciplinary profile embracing quadruple helix approach and multistakeholder engagement aims at letting these associations better collaborate on various projects and host visits for interested audience to learn more about:
• co-creation and citizen engagement by Living Labs;
• building bridges between creative communities to connect creativity with research, innovation and experimentation;
• market creation and technical interoperability in and between services in cities;
• boosting European Big Data Value research, development and innovation and to foster a positive perception of Big Data Value.
By bringing together the co-creation and citizens participation, Open Data and Open services, interoperability between cities and boosting creativity and entrepreneurship, the “QHHQ” (Quadruple Helix Headquarters) Hub in the heart of Brussels is seeking to build on globally linked European ecosystems and facilitators to shape the urban agenda.
The hub relies on local stakeholder collaboration, with an outlook towards the bigger picture.
QHHQ is a hub of like-minded, ambitious, collaborative digital change makers.
