At the Global Sustainable Technology & Innovation conference
For the second consecutive time, ENoLL joined the Global Sustainable Technology & Innovation conference (G-STIC). With the aim to facilitate the world-wide implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, G-STIC helps accelerate technological transitions towards SDGs by promoting collaboration among technology stakeholders and bridging the gap between technology and policy making.
The 2018 edition of the ENoLL annual conference, OpenLivingLab Days, explored the topic of Sustainable Development Goals and their relation to Living Labs. As an organisation that is committed to SDGs, ENoLL Director Zsuzsanna Bodi was invited to speak at the closing session of the conference, under the topic “Looking forward to G-STIC 2019”.
She explained how the 1st edition of the conference inspired the whole ENoLL community to address its annual summit on the topic of Living Lab’s contribution to the SDGs, key messages gathered from #OLLD18 furthermore what the open innovation ecosystem is offering for the upcoming year’s edition. See her presentation bellow:
Key findings from the G-STIC, summarized by the organisers of the event:
Key finding 1: “We can achieve many of the SGDs but it will not happen just by itself. We need to scale up the existing technologies.”
Key finding 2: “Policy action is urgently needed to upscale existing market-ready integrated technological solutions that can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs”
Key finding 3: “We need to identify the gaps, hurdles, barriers and opportunities to bring these innovative technologies to the market at scale.”
The overall message: “We can achieve many of the SDGs by 2030 but it will not happen by itself”
