Applications for this Call are open from September 12th to October 31st, aiming to find innovative tech solutions for:

CommuniCity launches 100 tech pilots through 3 Open Calls to address the needs of European cities and communities. The main goal of the project is to promote technology solutions through co-creation and co-learning processes driven by citizens, designed with and for vulnerable and marginalised communities.

There are 13 pilots currently running; 5 of them in Amsterdam, 4 in Helsinki and 4 in Porto. Despite facing some challenges such as the summer break and occasional difficulties in engaging with target groups, the Pilots are all dedicated to their mission: enhancing the quality of residents’ lives through the implementation of technological solutions. The closure of the initial piloting phase is expected to happen in late October or early November and the results will be available and shared.

Meanwhile, the Second Round of Open Calls welcomes citizens, universities, organisations, companies, associations, and tech providers to participate in the CommuniCity co-creation process. We strongly encourage proposals of pioneering, digitally inclusive and sustainable solutions that could help cities and communities in their urban and social innovation journey.

In this Round, the goal is to build upon the valuable knowledge acquired during the previous Open Call with our Partner cities: Amsterdam, Helsinki and Porto. We are now transitioning into a new stage involving four Replicator cities that have recently joined our initiative: Aarhus, Breda, Prague and Tallinn. While each of these cities have its unique characteristics, they share a common purpose and are unified in their determination to enhance the support provided to vulnerable and marginalised local communities.

We are confident that the insights and lessons learnt so far will serve as a solid starting point for guiding all participants towards a successful pilot implementation.
