The Europeana Creative project has just launched its first competition and invites creatives, developers, publishers, designers and more to join in.

We believe in making cultural heritage openly accessible in a digital way, to promote the exchange of ideas and information. This helps us all to understand our cultural diversity better and contributes to a thriving knowledge economy.

We’re looking for people with experience in app development, e-book publishing, game and website design and especially those of you who are interested in Natural History or History Education. If you have a brilliant idea on how to re-use Europeana content
on these themes, enter the first EuropeanaCreative Challenge on http://ecreativeeducation2014.istart.org/ which is open till 31 March 2014.

This competition will gather the top applications and bring their authors together to pitch their ideas to an investor audience. The winner of a category will receive a hands-on Incubation Support Package to bring the product successfully to the market. The Incubation Support Package comprises: consultation with experts from the fields of business support; technical support; facilitation of access to investments and business partnerships; access to specialised testing environments; and marketing and promotion support.
