In May 2019, ENoLL Chairman Fernando Vilariño and Director Zsuzsanna Bodi met with Director Aoki from the Japanese Ministry of Trade to discuss collaboration between the two organisations. The meeting marks a step towards ENoLL’s Action Oriented Task Force commitment on Social Innovation and Citizen Science which will be presented at the OpenLivingLab Days in Thessaloniki.

The Japanese delegation also visited OpenLab Stockholm in Sweden, where as reported on their LinkedIn page, “the discussions covered challenges such as a changing demographic structure, involving citizens and businesses in innovation processes and allowing for disruptive ideas to emerge through design thinking, challenges many of which we have in common”. The visit which was arranged by ENoLL aimed at sharing perspectives on societal innovation.
