Main concept of living lab  is prevention of the accidents at sea, including maritime terrorism, as well as , establishing a system of navigation, ship reporting system, complete coverage of the radio communication system, establishing a vessel control service in port areas and on the access routes to the ports of the largest passenger and cargo traffic volume, especially as regards dangerous and hazardous cargoes, improving mutual cooperation with corresponding offices and research activities in the neighbouring countries, namely in the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Italy, in applying the regulations of the system protecting the marine environment against pollution, and application of the Coast Zone Management principles.

Mobile games are among the most popular applications and we are beginning to see how these may be translated into effective learning technologies. Our vision is for great games that are user-led, not technology-led, informed by theory and competence-based, for use in blended learning programmes. This effort is created in cooperation with Slovenija eLivingLab and  Evolaris LivingLab eGovernment lab,  is City of Rijeka Information Technology Institute and Faculty of Maritime Studies  joint research facility.

IT for local government group  is aimed to create  City of Rijeka as intelligent city ,providing ‘on demand’ services to citizens and entrepreneurs  based on internet, mobile devices and  broadband infrastructure  in time and place when they are needed. Mission is to create a modern administration using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Internet in order to open the  local government towards citizens.
