MedTechLab®, Living Lab in Health and Autonomy
About us
MedTechLab® is co-directed by Aésio Santé and École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Etienne (Mines Saint-Etienne). Based at the Center for Biomedical and Healthcare Engineering, MedTechLab® is a living lab in Health and Autonomy, and is part of the #FutureMedicine Plateform at Mines Saint-Etienne.
Activities
MedTechLab® is an interdisciplinary meeting space to think, to co-create, to model, to test, to experiment and to assess the use of products and/or services incorporating new technologies in the fields of Health and Autonomy in a controlled environment (Living Lab/Test Bed) and in a real-life environment (medico-social and health-care Establishments).
Mission
MedTechLab® offers, to industrial companies and socio-economic actors, a privileged environment to support, to encourage the research and development of innovative projects and to ensure the emergence of users’ needs. For example:
- Develop an innovative product/service (co-create from a new idea/project)
- Improve an existing product/service
- Extend the market by testing and experimenting an existing product to a new target
- Model a new healthcare pathway
- Assess an innovative solution.
- MedTechLab® provides collective intelligent workshops, design concept and design prototype workshops, test and experimentation programs and evaluation programs.
Test Bed
The test-bed is a « smart apartment » equipped with different sensors, 3D cameras/analyzers, innovative furniture and a back office to observe / analyse the data.
