INTERIORS LIVING LAB by CENFIM Furnishings Cluster involves in a straightforward manner
more than 140 affiliated companies, including home and contract interiors products
manufacturers, retailers, and auxiliary industries motivated by innovation from furniture, home
textiles, lighting, bath, paving, and other sectors (covering all the interiors value chain). The
the living lab has a total outreach of more than 2.600 companies across Spain and many other
entities across the EU.

Living lab activities cover the following fields on interiors design: 1) Digitization (smart
spaces, Industry 4.0 technologies with special attention on smart/IoT products and Human-
Computer Interaction technologies); 2) Circular Economy (eco-design, sustainable materials,
processes and organizations); 3) Product Design (product ideation, creativity, trends analysis,
user requirements definition-validation, analysis of users perception / pre-market validation);
and 4) Shared Value Creation (strategic Corporate Social Responsibility and
‘Furnishings4Good’ innovations).
Interiors Living Lab has co-creation spaces in 3 cities in Spain: La Sénia (headquarters),
Barcelona and Madrid (permanent interior product showrooms). Moreover, INTERIORS LIVING
LAB promotes the celebration of specialized workshops at Interhotel international fair, managed
by CENFIM cluster (https://www.interihotel.com/en/).

Among its services, INTERIORS LIVING LAB stands out internationally for its technologies and
methods allowing to correlate the perception, emotional response and behavior of users with
respect to interior design characteristics, in different real-life or immersive habitat exhibition
spaces targeted to different emerging customer profiles. The living lab has also an extensive
background in the co-development of conceptual spaces (physical and virtual) aimed to explore
and make more visible new interior design opportunities and solutions based on new challenges
and trends in different application domains.
