The Mediterranean Innovation Rural Living Lab aims to become a catalyst for innovation ecosystems for the sustainable development of rural and coastal areas in Apulia and the Mediterranean region by:
– spread the culture of Open-Innovation by developing training courses, research, knowledge-transfer, international cooperation in Mediterranean Area;
– create a multi-actor network applying a systematic approach of co-creation that integrates research and innovation processes in communities and real-life environments;
– generate innovation through the startups creation (support for youth entrepreneurship) and co-design and acceleration of solutions for businesses and rural and coastal communities.
The Living Lab’s main characteristics are the heterogeneity of the knowledge and skills of its staff, recognized at European and international level for the quality of its research and advanced training activities in the field of agronomy and rural development. In recent years, CIHEAM Bari’s activities have been characterized by the multi-level application of human-centered approaches in the development and implementation of project and institutional activities involving wide partnership networks both locally and across borders.
