Smart Safety Living Lab (SSLL) focuses on supporting SMEs in the industrial and manufacturing fields. For this, we provide various services, such as business model (BM) development, User Experience (UX) evaluation, and certification for market launching.
We have operated two specialized laboratories: 1) Industrial Living Lab and 2) Life Safety Living Lab, and supported validation and certification on 10 products or services each year since 2017 (now in its fifth year).
For the consistent and iterative operation, SSLL defined a guideline for the operation by working with various special organizations, such as POSTECH, Ajou. University, Korea Conformity Laboratories, and Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
SSLL supports the aforementioned industrial innovation activities such as BM planning, UX evaluation, and certification, so it is possible to support all stages of the life cycle such as identification and product development and market launch for the development of innovative products/services for SMEs in the smart safety field.
These innovation activities aim to produce results that meet the needs of stakeholders while repeatedly and continuously performing Quick & Dirty. To this end, we have developed evaluation indicators and evaluation techniques (SSLL guidelines) that reflect characteristics related to safety products/services and industrial innovation in the existing UX evaluation.
The guidelines of SSLL define the participation and role of stakeholders, including businesses and citizens, in the step-by-step implementation process. We collect experience and feedback through quantitative data analysis, by 1) questionnaire and interview tool development and 2) bio-signal measurement equipment (ex. EMG, Eye tracker) that encompasses evaluation indicators related to industrial innovation from their respective perspectives.
In addition, by establishing and operating a testbed including a real-time video and data integration platform to support such innovation activities, opinions and experiences of various stakeholders can be efficiently and accurately collected.
