LLio

The Open Innovation Living Lab (LLio) is a center for research and transfer of open innovation practices. Its mission is to facilitate the adoption of open innovation practices, in particular those involving users.

The LLio’s field of intervention is the adoption of open innovation practices by companies, organizations, institutions, research centers, and communities. In this sense, it is a research center that intervenes in innovative social practices, both in the context of social and technological innovation.

As its speciality concerns the adoption of open innovation practices, it explores, experiments, adapts, develops, and applies methods, devices, and tools such as Fab Lab, Design Thinking / Service Design, co-creation, empathy, serious games, and prototyping.

It mainly uses the Living Lab approach to oversee the deployment of these tools and principles. It has a transversal role (innovation practices), which comes with more sectoral roles.

The Center does research and intervention in open innovation. To succeed in this transfer role, the LLio is interested in:

  • OI practices, actors, spaces, and scales
  • The capacity to innovate of people, organizations, and territories
  • The evaluation of this capacity and its impact
