CommuniCity conducts diverse innovation pilots across a wide range of local communities, including urban, peri-urban, and rural areas, as well as two EU capitals, with the goal of empowering hard-to-reach and marginalized communities. It operates in three cycles of increasing scale, building on two dynamic networks of local administrations and living labs.
CommuniCity develops an inclusive, community-driven, agile innovation and experimentation model. Using this model, the project runs an extensive co-creation process, starting by involving local communities in defining challenges and then developing innovative solutions through open calls promoted at both the European and local levels. This approach will generate new insights into local community innovation processes, as well as principles and models for scaling these insights in an inclusive and sustainable manner. Additionally, CommuniCity will produce numerous novel innovations rooted in the needs of local communities, offering an exemplary model that can be followed across Europe.
The project’s goal is to advance community-driven innovation throughout society, including its margins, ensuring that these novel innovations, through their development and testing, are better aligned with European values and serve the needs of all, particularly marginalized groups and communities
ENoLL leads Work Package 6 (WP6) on Mutual Learning, Impact, and Dissemination in the CommuniCity project. Its focus is on developing a framework for stakeholder engagement, co-creation, and understanding of needs. ENoLL is responsible for establishing CommuniLab, a virtual learning lab aimed at facilitating capacity building, knowledge sharing, and community engagement through workshops, debates, and interactive sessions. CommuniLab also hosts the project’s outcomes, results, methodologies, and approaches on its space. This virtual lab is a key project output designed to have a lasting impact beyond the project’s conclusion, serving as a space for the continued use of learnings, outputs, and deliverables.
