The prestigious World Smart City Awards were established in order to identify cities, projects and innovative ideas promoting sustainable urban development around the globe and are one of the key activities at the event. These internationally acclaimed awards aim to recognize, promote and support pioneering city strategies, projects and ideas that can potentially change citizen’s lives through their outstanding innovation and impact.
Each year hundreds of proposals are sent in from key smart city players from around the globe, with last year’s figures reaching 309 applications received from 58 participating countries, and winners hailing from the Netherlands, Spain, China, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Argentina and USA.
Winners will be announced on November 14 in front of an audience of more than 1,000 key public and private decision makers, providing an excellent opportunity to gain prestige and visibility. For the chance to be considered, submit your entry by the deadline of September 3.
Who can participate?
The World Smart City Awards are aimed at both public and private sector, cities, businesses, entrepreneurs, startups, digital innovators, developers, research centers, universities, civic techs, civil society representatives, non-governmental organizations, cooperatives, consortiums (public-private) and social activists with innovative ideas, research, visions and solutions for the management and development of our cities.
