The Living-in.EU Digital Assembly 2026 will take place on 15 April 2026 (9:30–12:30) in Sofia, bringing together mayors, regional leaders, and key stakeholders to discuss the political priorities shaping the digital and green transformation of European cities.
Organised within the Living-in.EU initiative, the Digital Assembly serves as the political advisory body of the network and is co-chaired by Lluïsa Moret Sabidó and Ivan Goychev. This flagship event provides strategic orientation for the development of digital solutions that support Europe’s cities and communities.
Under the theme “Key Technologies for Future-Proof Cities: from data spaces to digital twins,” the 2026 Assembly will explore how cities can navigate the data-driven journey towards more resilient and sustainable urban environments. Discussions will focus on identifying local needs, developing federated data spaces, and leveraging data platforms and digital twins to support urban planning and climate resilience.
The programme includes a political debate with city leaders and European institutions, followed by a panel discussion showcasing practical examples from cities implementing digital twins for climate resilience.
For the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) community, the Digital Assembly represents a valuable opportunity to better understand the evolving agendas, priorities, and technological directions of cities and public authorities across Europe. Living Labs working on digital innovation, data spaces, urban experimentation, and citizen-centred technologies can gain insights into the needs of cities and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Participation is free of charge, and the event provides a unique space for dialogue between policymakers, city administrations, and innovation ecosystems shaping the future of European cities.
