Launching G-STIC is the response of VITO and its international partners to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change (December 2015) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (September 2015). To limit global temperature rise well below 2 degrees Celsius and to achieve the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, a global transition towards less resource-intensive and more resilient economic and social development models is of the utmost importance. G-STIC aims to help accomplish that transition by contributing a robust technology advisory system to the United Nations and other multilateral governance systems.
