Biennale International Design Saint-Etienne

Location:Saint-Etienne, France
Date:21.03.2019 - 22.04.2019

The Saint-Étienne International Design Biennial celebrates its 11th edition from March 21 to April 22, 2019, with the theme “ME, YOU, WE, Let’s create common ground”. This is an opportunity to look at the following question: How can design facilitate exchanges by proposing new connections, new spaces and even new objects?

With China’s UNESCO Cities of Design – Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Wuhan guests of honor, the Biennial recognizes China’s exponential growth and celebrates its place on the international design scene. The exhibition “Equi-Libre”, curated by FAN Zhe offers us a panorama of contemporary Chinese creation. The “Stefania” exhibition by ESADSE presents more than 30 French and international design schools that have worked with Chinese schools. These proposals are complemented by exhibitions and events at the Sino-French Contemporary Art Center at Chambon sur Lignon, a new venue dedicated to creativity and international exchange.
