A new JRC science for policy brief ‘Regulatory learning in experimentation spaces’, is now available at https://publications.jrc.ec.europa.eu/repository/handle/JRC130458.
The policy brief is the result of the collaboration within the JWG on Regulatory Learning, drawing on the many exchanges with the JWG members this year, including JWG meetings, a survey, and interviews.
The policy brief provides an overview of how experimentation spaces can support regulatory decision-making and learning. It discusses the joint value that the actors involved in innovation creation, adoption, and governance – innovators, citizens, and regulators – may derive from collaboration within different experimentation spaces, such as living labs. The brief also supports the New European Innovation Agenda and specifically its second flagship on enabling innovation through experimentation spaces and public procurement.
