Declaration on joining forces to boost sustainable digital transformation in cities and communities in the EU invites European mayors to sign the declaration to agree on common principles and values to form a foundation of a sustainable digital transformation.
Digital solutions are broad and include approaches to smart urban mobility, energy efficiency, sustainable housing, digital public services, and civic-led governance.
Through co-creation with citizens, we aim to bring the economic and social benefits of this transformation to all local communities and implement an inclusive digital Europe, with powerful digital services, technologies, infrastructures and skills.
On the Porto Cities Forum event an important next milestone was reached by increasing the number of signatures collected by Mayors in Europe committing to the declarations’ principles.
The European Network of Living Labs is keen on joining and promoting the The city as a citizen-driven innovation ecosystem initiative, putting people in the centre to co-create and experiment with new (digital) innovative products and services in urban environments. “We look forward to collaborating with the participating cities and supporting the implementation phase by bringing in Living Labs as an ideal framework to better prepare and de-risk future investments and uptake on a large scale,” says Wim de Kinderen ENoLL Vice Chair.
