It has been reported on the web page of the European Commission that the Competitiveness Council has endorsed the European Open Science Cloud.
The Competitiveness Council brings together ministers responsible for trade, economy, industry, research and innovation, and space from all EU member states. Next to that, relevant European Commissioners participate in the meetings of the council.
The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is a cloud for research data in Europe which will support EU science by creating a trusted environment for hosting and processing research data.
The competitiveness Council also welcomed recommendation put forward by the Open Science Policy Platform (OSPP). Established in 2016, the platform comprises important stakeholders who advise the Commission on how to further develop and practically implement Open Science policy in order to improve radically the quality and impact of European science. ENoLL President, Tuija Hirvikoski, is a member of the OSPP group and has been working closely with the group to advise EU Commissioner Carlos Moedas.
