The Creative Ring at Smart City Expo 2015

Initially developed by the SPECIFI project, the Creative Ring is a new experimental community offering a networking space for artists, creative talents and stakeholders working in the Creative industries. The ENoLL Secretariat collaborates with this initiative together with some ENoLL members: e.g. Barcelona Laboratori, iMinds iLab.o, the EGG.

At Smart City Expo 2015, one of the world leading events on smart cities held in Barcelona from the 17^th to the 19^th of November, the Creative Ring community ran a stand in the exhibition area and organised a dedicated session on creative communities.

At the Creative Ring stand (nr. B318, close the Restaurant area, see map) visitors had the chance to know more about the Creative Ring and engage with other European creative actors: SMEs, artists, creative institutes. Creative Ring technologies were showcased: e.g. Videovivo, a software platform to create interactive videos and digital storytelling (www.videovivo.it).

Visitors could also play with Playground, a smartphone app allowing gamers to discover urban spaces in a playful way while fostering social inclusion. When visiting the Creative Ring stand they could test the app and win 1 smart watch Moto 360, 2 official FC Barcelona shirts and other amazing prizes.

The Creative Ring team then organised a dedicated Creative Ring workshop held at Smart City Expo on the 19^th of November from 2 to 5.30pm. This workshop presented and discussed the Creative Ring plan with an audience of SMEs, cities, hubs and technology providers (check agenda here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/creative-ring-workshop-tickets-19357867904). 

Around 500 people visited the Creative Ring stand getting informed and asking many questions on Creative Ring activities. 35+ people attended the Creative Ring workshop.
