As part of the official Awards Ceremony of the European Satellite Navigation Competition on the 18th October, three 10 000 Euro prizes will be awarded for the best GNSS-related products and services, which are ready to be tested and implemented in a suitable Living Lab.
Ten finalists have been nominated in the categories energy, health, and media. A total of 57 proposals from 22 countries were submitted, from which a panel of international experts has chosen 10 solutions to proceed to the final round.

Ten finalists have been nominated in the categories energy, health, and media. A total of 57 proposals from 22 countries were submitted, from which a panel of international experts has chosen 10 solutions to proceed to the final round.
In the energy category, three proposals have been nominated that aim to improve emission transparency in road transport, reach the last mile in urban mobility, and motivate citizens to recycle domestic waste properly.
For the topic of health, two location-based monitoring solutions for heart patients as well as preventive and rehabilitative physical activity have been nominated, as well as a tracing system that verifies the provenience and products used for cultivation and treatments in the food value chain.
Four applications have made it to the finals in the media category, addressing topics such as leisure and tourism, as well as remote and game-based learning.
A dedicated workshop that introduces the winners and next steps will take place on 19 October in the Galileo Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen/Germany in line with the European Satellite Navigation Conference 2010.
Living Labs willing to participate in the 2nd stage of the GNSS Living Lab Prize are encouraged to attend this workshop. GAINS will bring the winning ideas and LL together, and help the idea holders and Living Labs to strike a collaboration agreement. The trials will be partly funded by GAINS.
