Organised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands from the 23rd to the 24th of May 2016 by Open Innovation Strategy and Policy Group (OSPIG), the Open Innovation 2.0 Conference is a key event in the ENoLL and living lab calendar for discussions focusing on open innovation, open living labs and smart cities.

During the Open Innovation 2.0 2016 event several topics will discussed, like European Innovation Living labs; Innovation Ecosystems; OI2 funding opportunities under Horizon 2020; Online Engagement Platforms (Big Data, Cloud, IoT, participatory design); etc. The conference will be preceded by a Camp for Societal Innovation which will bring together people with different backgrounds to address the challenges brought by cities, regions, industry, universities and NGOs.

The OI2 Conference will be held under the label of the Dutch EU Presidency, and co-organised by the Open Innovation Strategy and Policy Group (OISPG), DG CONNECT (European Commission), the European Committee of the Regions, the City of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and Intel Labs Europe! The conference is expected to gather more than 350 people and discuss topics like European Innovation Living labs; Innovation Ecosystems; OI2 funding opportunities under Horizon 2020; Online Engagement Platforms (Big Data, Cloud, IoT, participatory design), etc.

As previous years, an exhibition focusing on Open Innovation projects, platforms and new developments will be also organised along with the Conference part of the event. Last year projects like FI-WARE, STARTS and Startup Europe were exhibited, as well some IoT platforms and collaborative tools for sharing.

Another integral part of the Open Innovation 2.0 event, the Innovation Luminary Awards Ceremony will also take place between Day 1 and 2 of the Conference  serving the purpose of honouring thought leaders in modern innovation from Academia, Civil society, Private and Public sectors.

On the 20/21/22 May 2016 the Conference will be preceded by a Camp for societal innovation  where participants from diverse countries, age groups and disciplines – who would normally never meet – are brought together to address the challenges brought to the camp by cities, regions, industry, universities or NGOs: organisations which we call ‘challenge-owners’. Participants work with content experts, direct stakeholders and a growing global community of open innovation practitioners to discover new ways to deal with the challenges.

The registration for the event will open soon and more details are the meeting venue will be communicated shortly via the OSPIG website: https://ec.europa.eu/digital-agenda/en/open-innovation
