QuakeUp is a little gem of technology that can save thousands of lives worldwide through Smartphone technologies.

Alert from the very first second of an earthquake using mobile technology and smartphones is possible with an solution invented by the French experts in the emergency management, associated with a group at the forefront of innovative technologies. With QuakeUp, the alert is given from the first second of the earthquake, and the smartphone is transformed automatically to a geolocated beacon to guide rescue teams in the most efficient way.

This innovation, resulting from the partnership between SmartSystems, CoRisk International and Prevention 2000 was hailed by the international scientific community on October 20th, 2011 in Munich winning the Nice Sophia Antipolis Award of the European Satellite Navigation Competition.

QuakeUp is developed and supported in Sophia Antipolis and has already attracted the attention of UN, World Bank, Red Cross and Red Cresent.
