Open place-making: A New Paradigm for Citizen Enablement

ENoLL (Ana Garcia, ENoLL Office) was invited to participate in the workshop on Open place-making: A New Paradigm for Citizen Enablement in the framework of the international Conference on Future Internet for New Century Cities held in Zaragoza, Spain on November 8th – 10th, 2012. The workshop was organised by Zaragoza Living Lab, long-standing member of the European Network of Living Labs from the second Wave.

ENoLL (Ana Garcia, ENoLL Office) was invited to participate in the workshop on Open place-making: A New Paradigm for Citizen Enablement in the framework of the international Conference on Future Internet for New Century Cities held in Zaragoza, Spain on November 8th – 10th, 2012. The workshop was organised by Zaragoza Living Lab, long-standing member of the European Network of Living Labs from the second Wave.

As a part of the day, the key people and the key institutions of the local innovation ecosystem in Zaragoza were presented including the Etopia Center for Art and Technology, Valdespartera Ecocity and other living lab activities and finally the CIEM Startup Incubator and the Digital Water Pavillion.

Even if not being able to physically attend the workshop, ENoLL office through Skype participation presented the network, recent activities and initiatives and few of the best practice cases arising from the community of Living Labs.

ENoLL presentation on ‘European smart cities and smart city projects in user empowered innovation ecosystems‘ included exploring the linkages and opportunities for cooperation between the Living Lab community and the Future Internet PPP, Smart City Service Development Kit and its Application Pilots (CitySDK) as an example of an European wide cooperation on Smart Cities including interesting cases from active ENoLL members from Helsinki and Amsterdam and finally the strategic alliances of ENoLL including the upcoming relating initiatives.
