The Information Society and Media Directorate-General of the European Commission will organize on 28 February 2011 an ICT Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP) Call 5 Information Day in Brussels. For the agenda, registration and ICT PSP Draft Work Programme 2011, se here.
The ICT PSP aims at stimulating smart, sustainable and inclusive growth by accelerating the wider uptake and best use of innovative digital technologies and content by citizens, governments and businesses. It provides EU funding to support the realisation of the Digital Agenda for Europe.
On the following day, 1 March 2011, the Information Society and Media Directorate-General of the European Commission will organise an ICT PSP constituency building workshop for Call 5 Objective 5.1: “Open innovation for Internet-enabled services in ‘smart’ cities” in Brussels.
The workshop draft agenda and registration are available here. The deadline is 22 February 2011 for mandatory workshop registration and for submitting short presentations regarding pilot proposal ideas and, separately, pilot participant competences.
Several pilots will be supported with the aim of accelerating the uptake of innovative “ultrafast Internet” based technologies and services in cities, based on shared platforms.
Each pilot should combine in an appropriate way the three following elements:
i) User-driven open innovation ecosystems, such as Living Labs,
ii) A cross-border network of ‘smart cities’, and
iii) Innovative Internet-based services.
