EU-MACS is a recently-started project whose goal is to make the wealth of climate information truly accessible and applicable for a large variety of potential climate service users. In cooperation with current and potential CS users the EU-MACS project will develop mechanisms that should assist both CS providers and users in better matching their products, capabilities, and needs, while at the same time also smoothing the processes for search, selection, tailoring, and (decision oriented) using of climate service products. In order to support the coordination of ENoLL activities in EU-MACS the ENoLL Office launches the present Call for external expertise, whose terms and conditions are explained below.
ACTIVITIES
ENoLL activities focus on WP4: Exploring Climate Services supply chain cluster options in urban planning. This WP goals:
– Enhance the awareness of local decision-makers, stakeholders and communities concerning the main risks caused by climate change and the role of climate services (value);
– Improve the integration between climate change adaptation policies and urban planning activities (mainstreaming);
– Develop a long-term sustainable creative environment for climate service implementation and adaptation in urban planning
The main idea is using Living Labs as a tool to achieve these goals, and specifically in the task Co-creative action for market creation in urban planning and plan for LL implementation) to organise co-creative workshops that help stakeholders build urban Living Labs for Climate Services as a self-sustainable project product. This will require dialogue with 2 previously-chosen local communities: Helsinki (Finland) and Bologna. ENoLL is asked to organise 1 workshop per location to meet stakeholders and help them build a climate change focused living lab using interactive, user-driven methodologies. The plan will be adapted thanks to the interaction with cities, making it suitable to support the long-term sustainability of urban LLs.
Selected external expert should mainly focus on co-creative workshops to be organised in Helsinki and Bologna. The profile should help ENoLL Office design the workshop on the basis of work done by consortium and meetings with stakeholders attended. Studying project activities/goals beforehand would be crucial to guarantee workshop success and contextualise work done. Then, the expert should run the workshops with the support of ENoLL Office and INRIA.
