ENoLL at 7th European Summit of Regions and Cities

After the successful contribution given during CoR Forum on the Urban Agenda ENoLL attended the 7^th European Summit of Regions and Cities organised by the Committee of the Regions on July 8-9^th in Bratislava (Slovakia).

After the successful contribution given during CoR Forum on the Urban Agenda ENoLL attended the 7^th European Summit of Regions and Cities organised by the Committee of the Regions on July 8-9^th in Bratislava (Slovakia). The summit brought together many European politicians together with experts and European networks to discuss policies affecting urban and regional development in Europe (check tweets by searching #BratislavaSummit)

ENoLL was invited to present its specific, unique contribution to urban development grounded on citizen-driven innovation and the role of users.

The ENoLL booth was the place where visitors could discover Living Labs and our network. More than 100 visitors passed by to ask more information, and we realized how crucial it is to propose Living Lab methodologies in Eastern Europe where they are sometimes still unknown.

Moreover, the ENoLL President Tuija Hirvikoski went on stage during day 2 and the parallel session on “Connecting people: Digital and smarter: cities and regions of the future”.  During this debate, attended by around 80 people, the President highlighted the relevance of citizens in urban/regional innovation processes, and the role living labs can have in bridging municipalities and the citizenry while easing co-creation and experimentation projects with the urban society, HEIs and local SMEs.

Our citizen-driven approach and open-minded collaborative mood have been strongly appreciated by speakers and many participants, and allowed establishing connections with new cities/regions, networks, EU co-funded projects and experts in urban development.
