Either if you represent an already engaged OASC city, or you are willing to engage; either if you represent the city, you closely collaborate in your city open innovation ecosystem, or you are a Smart city app developer/solution provider, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to engage with the OASC initiative during this autumn 2015.
The Open and Agile Smart Cities initiative was officially launched last on March 2015 to accelerate the adoption of common standards for global smart city development. So far, 60 cities from 10 European Countries, Brazil and Australia have joined and strong interest raised worldwide. OASC is strongly contributing to the European need of a common Smart Cities framework to create market, taking advantage of the potential of this sector to create jobs and growth, by deploying innovative and replicable solutions increasing the competitiveness of businesses (market), avoiding vendor lock-in (competition), improving services offered by cities, and enabling more widespread participation in service development and community engagement.
OASC promoters, contributors and community will be present in several relevant events in the upcoming months. If you are interested in knowing more or better engage, add this to your agenda:
