Members of ENoLL are warlmy invited to participate in the Connected Future Conference 2014 (CFC 2014), organized by the Municipality of Eindhoven, the Province of North-Brabant and E-Society Platform. On Wednesday 29 October 2014 hundreds of conference visitors will gather in Eindhoven, elected as “the worlds‟ smartest region” in 2011, to get inspired and to mobilize the further progress of digitalization.

Advancing digitalization of our society is of great importance for a new economic growth perspective, a healthy and affordable welfare level and a sustainable society. At the same time we have to safeguard our security and privacy, by identifying and managing possible threats. Digitalization touches upon all of this and it would be senseless to have individual sectors take on this problem in isolation. To fully make use of the possibilities of digitalization and have the implementation run efficiently it is of great importance that government, science and business join forces and jointly create a new and sustainable future. CFC2014 shows how sectors can cooperate to create a new future!

The conference day will start off with a warm welcome from the Vice-President of Brainport Development; Joep Brouwers. After this, there is a field visit to the Andromeda Apartment Building; one of Eindhoven‟s Smart Living examples, so you will see how digitalization can change living conditions. Following this visit you will enjoy a great lunch, before continuing with a masterclass by Geert Duysters (Professor Entrepreneurshipand Innovation at Tilburg University) on building alliances between quadruple helix partners. Later on we will be inspired by surprising Open Data business cases by René Paré (director MAD Emergent Art Center), after which we debate about them. We conclude the conference with a drink, before continuing to the international-invitees dinner. During this dinner Bob van Oosterhout (Sports Marketing-entrepreneur) will give a spectacular lecture at Strijp-S, a former Philips industrial site transformed into an inspiring Living Lab, in the presence of the Mayor of Eindhoven, Rob van Gijzel. We hope to welcome a nice mixture of ENOLL-members, members of Eurocities Knowledgde Society Forum and members from the Intelligent Community Forum.
