We are delighted to announce that LiCalab – Living & Care Lab at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences – has joined the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) as co-organiser of OpenLivingLab Days 2026.
Based in Belgium’s Flanders region, LiCalab has built a strong community of over 1,200 citizens, patients, and care professionals who collaboratively shape healthcare solutions.
Through exploration, co-creation, testing, and evaluation of innovative solutions in real-life environments, LiCalab contributes to increasing the social and economic impact of care innovations. Its work focuses on care technology and the innovative organisation of care.
As co-organiser of OLLD26, LiCalab will play an active role in shaping the conference. It brings longstanding experience as ENoLL Effective Member, building and sustaining a large, engaged Living Lab community. Leveraging their strong presence in the Belgian Living Lab ecosystem, LiCalab will lead a high-level session on health and well-being involving key stakeholders and policy-makers at regional and national level.
OpenLivingLab Days 2026, the Living Labs global gathering, will take place from 29 September to 2 October in Brussels and Antwerp, exploring ‘’Living Lab Impacts and Values for a Changing World’’.
It will begin in Brussels with a Policy Event on 29 September, fostering high-level dialogue between EU institutions and the Living Lab community. This event will present impact results to support EU policymaking in view of the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), unpacking how Living Labs can further contribute to future funding programmes addressing key societal challenges.
The conference will then continue in Antwerp at ‘’A Room With a ZOO’’ on 30 September and 1 October, featuring panels, workshops, and research presentations. It will conclude on 2 October with site visits to Belgian Living Labs.
