The Working Group has been established to explore the intersections between gender, entrepreneurship and innovation. The gender inequality within entrepreneurship and innovation in Europe and elsewhere is well known. How this effects the outcomes of innovation, i.e. what is developed is less well known – the GILL project calls this ‘Gender Responsive Smart Innovation and Entrepreneurship (GRSIE)’.
Creating opportunities to develop ‘fairer’ GRSIE practices and products, is not a women’s issue. Everyone and every process within the E&I ecosystem needs to be considered.
The WG is situated within LL, because LLs are at the forefront of user centres design and open innovation, their network can be used to disseminate gender fair practices and open discussion.
The Gender in innovation WG sets out to:
• Champion and promote interest and debate in gender awareness in E&I
• Develop opportunities to measure and then increase the representation of women and those from traditionally excluded groups across ENoLL and beyond.
• Ensure that the outcomes of OI processes are gender responsive and smart.
