SCORE

Smart Control of the Climate Resilience in European Coastal Cities

SCORE aims to enhance coastal city climate resilience through a co-creation strategy, leveraging a network of 10 Coastal City Living Labs (CCLLs) and Ecosystem-Based Approaches (EBAs) alongside digital technologies. By establishing an integrated coastal zone management framework, SCORE will strengthen EBAs and smart coastal city policies, aligning with The Paris Agreement. Citizen science will contribute to prototyping early warning systems, facilitating smart, instant climate resilience monitoring. These CCLLs engage citizens, scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders in learning from each other’s experiences, fostering engagement and empowerment. Through tools, methodologies, and validated EBAs, SCORE promotes citizen engagement, climate and erosion monitoring, knowledge sharing, and risk exploration. By demonstrating the socio-economic viability of EBAs, SCORE accelerates their systematic adoption, positioning European coastal cities as leaders in climate change adaptation.

ENoLL plays a central role in the SCORE project, contributing expertise to various aspects of the initiative. This includes setting up conceptual frameworks and strategies for participatory processes, designing training programs, managing activities, conducting socio-economic assessments, and developing communication and dissemination strategies. ENoLL’s involvement ensures the effective implementation and dissemination of project outcomes, fostering collaboration and innovation among partners. Additionally, ENoLL contributes by mentoring the 10 CCLLs on setting up their Living Labs.
