The M100 Convention is the milestone event of the M100 initiative, supporting Romanian cities in their transition to climate neutrality. The 10 selected cities have developed Climate City Contracts (CCC) – strategic documents outlining their local vision, action plans, and financing mechanisms for climate neutrality. The Convention marks the shift from planning to recognition, as the cities will be officially awarded the M100 Label.
The event brings together ministries, local and national authorities, international experts, civic organizations, and European partners. Its importance lies in the fact that it:
• acknowledges the progress of the cities that developed CCCs;
• provides a common framework for decision-makers and local actors;
• connects Romanian cities to European and international networks;
• sets the next steps for advancing towards climate neutrality.
On 28 November, our Head of Communications Andrada Barata will join the “Spy and Apply” session to present:
Torino City Lab (Italy) – an open platform where companies test innovative solutions in real urban settings.
Limerick Citizen Innovation Lab (Ireland) – a co-creation space where citizens, academia, and the city work together on sustainable urban futures.
UVT Digital & Green Living Lab (Romania) – a university-led initiative fostering cross-sector collaboration for digital and green transformation.
These Living Labs show how experimentation, policy, and community engagement can come together to speed up the transition toward inclusive, sustainable cities!
