Torino City Lab

Torino City Lab (TCL) is a real-life urban laboratory open to all companies interested in testing innovative solutions of public interest in Turin. Specific challenges and priority areas are periodically identified, enabling the launch of dedicated thematic laboratories.

Launched in 2018 by the City of Turin, TCL is an always open platform designed to create simplified conditions for companies and stratups to test innovative solutions in real urban environments. Today, the initiative counts around 90 national and international partners.

Since 2021,  thanks to the House of Emerging Technologies of Turin – CTE NEXT has expanded its mission to include start-up acceleration and technology transfer. Its focus is on emerging technologies enabled by 5G, with particular attention to strategic sectors such as land and air mobility, Industry 4.0, and Smart City solutions.

This commitment to open innovation and urban experimentation has contributed to Turin’s recognition as the European Capital of Innovation 2024, while also supporting its role as one of Europe’s 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities, working towards carbon neutrality by 2030 and addressing climate change through urban-scale testing of sustainable solutions.
