Forum Virium Helsinki

Forum Virium Helsinki is the city of Helsinki’s innovation company, it co-creates urban futures with companies, universities, public sector, and residents. FVH has a portfolio of 30+ innovation projects with international and national funding and employs 50+ experts.  The innovation projects are planned and run in tight collaboration with the city of Helsinki’s divisions. The topics range from data and novel technologies, mobility, adaptation to climate change and biodiversity, wellbeing and urban development. FVH’s  work is based on real-life experimentation with agile piloting programmes, using data and novel technologies for co-creation of smart and green solutions in collaboration with SME’s and innovation ecosystems, and active engagement of the residents. In the Helsinki Innovation Districts, the best practices are taken from the novel development areas to the districts under regeneration. The Helsinki Innovation Districts include several urban living labs:  the novel development areas such as Smart City districts Kalasatama and Jätkäsaari and the suburban regeneration districts.
