A sustainable, ecological approach in farming is today a solution in front of the growing challenges of climate change, depleted natural resources, shrinking biodiversity, and reduced soil quality. Agroecology can address these challenges, reinforcing the resilience of farming systems. Existing instruments offered by open innovation arrangements can serve this goal, particularly Living Labs and Research Infrastructures. For this reason, the EU-funded ALL-Ready project developed prepare a framework for a future European Network of Living Labs and Research Infrastructures. The project laid the groundwork and prepared the necessary prerequisites and activities and identify key principles, concepts, and criteria applicable to validate the framework of Future European Network of Living Labs and Research Infrastructure. A pilot network was engaged to test and verify on the tools and recommendations developed in the ALL-Ready project, to assess the needs and expectations of the network and to build cooperation between the different agroecology-focused Living Labs and Research Infrastructures across Europe.
ENoLL was the leader of the Work Package 5 responsible for preparing and initiating a Capacity Building Programme for the future network of Living Labs and Research Infrastructures supporting agroecology transition. This programme will support t Living Labs and Research Infrastructures in agroecology across Europe. The role of ENoLL focused on prototyping and experimenting the capacity building training program, implementing the capacity building training program, scaling up of the capacity building training program.
