Project Collaborations

ENoLL combines extensive experience in Living Lab methodologies and user-centered innovation with the knowledge and reach of an international network of Living Labs. Our areas of contribution include: 

• Methodology & Tools. Developing, adapting and applying Living Lab methodologies and tools, with a focus on the harmonisation of Living Lab practices across different contexts, an approach recognised at EU level as a best practice. 

• Capacity Building. Designing, delivering, and tailoring trainings and Capacity Building activities on Living Lab methods, open innovation, and key thematic areas in collaboration with consortium partners. 

• Monitoring & Evaluation. Adapting ENoLL’s Harmonized Evaluation Framework to specific project contexts and thematic areas to monitor and assess Living Labs’ alignment with ENoLL’s Living Lab methodology. 

• Engagement & Knowledge Sharing. Designing and facilitating stakeholder engagement, community building, knowledge exchange and cross-fertilisation activities, including set-up and management of Advisory/Replicability Boards, and/or Communities of Practice, and collaboration with key related initiatives thanks to ENoLL’s collaboration network.  

• Policy. Facilitating the translation of project results and findings into policy-relevant insights and recommendations, and cand fostering dialogue with policymakers and relevant stakeholders at EU and national levels. 

While the most appropriate form of collaboration depends on the project, the activities to be carried out, and the level of involvement required, ENoLL can join projects as:  

• Project Beneficiary, bringing ENoLL’s expertise directly into the consortium and contributing to the design and implementation of project activities, including the leadership of specific tasks and Work Packages. 

• Service provider, delivering specific services to the project without participating as a consortium beneficiary. Depending on the project needs, these can range from training and capacity building to Living Lab monitoring, certification-related support and advisory activities, with a dedicated budget allocated to the agreed services. 

ENoLL assesses each invitation against a set of participation criteria to ensure that its involvement is aligned with its strategic priorities and creates value for the Network. These include: 

• Living Lab relevance & strategic alignment. The proposal/project should align with ENoLL’s mission, priorities and Strategic Objectives, while demonstrating a clear recognition of the Living Lab approach and its principles. 

• Members involvement. At least one ENoLL Member should be involved in the consortium. This ensures that ENoLL’s participation creates a concrete opportunity for the Network, while bringing Members’ Living Lab expertise, local knowledge and experimentation capacities directly into the project.  

• Timing and resources. ENoLL should be involved sufficiently in advance to allow for internal assessment and meaningful participation in proposal development, with adequate resources foreseen for its contribution to the project.
