The Thriving Entrepreneurial and Creative Lab (TECLA) is an initiative that intends to exploit the potential of the Palermo city to become thriving and sustainable by leveraging and reinforcing the entrepreneurial and innovative capacity of local actors in the creative industry field. TECLA is a physical space that encourages participants to discuss ideas and projects, meet partners, and develop collaborative methodologies so that sustainable development goals can be supported by new technologies and advanced multimedia tools, as well as by knowledge in the social sciences, art and humanities. TECLA is managed by EIS, a private innovation management company and it is part of the creative hub CRE.ZI. PLUS, hosted in the cultural campus of the Palermo Municipality “Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa”. It capitalises the results of EU funded projects, and it is part of the Euro-Mediterranean network of U-SOLVE urban innovation hubs. TECLA has been building a diverse ecosystem of local and international enterprises active in different creative domains, which are engaged in joint projects and initiatives. TECLA’s activities also attract policy makers, academics, industry professionals, designers, manufacturers and other key actors in the urban community.
