South Holland Impact Alliance (ZHIA) Living Lab(s)

The Dutch society is facing a multitude of challenges, impending labour market shortages, rising healthcare costs, increasing health disparities, new security threats, and adaptation to climate change, requiring innovative approaches and contextual tackling. The four major Universities of Applied Sciences in South Holland, namely – The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS), InHolland University of Applied Sciences (InHolland), Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (RUAS), Leiden University of Applied Sciences (LUAS) established the South-Holland Impact Alliance (SHIA). SHIA has experience and expertise, thanks to the strong ties with stakeholders in the local neighbourhoods, the cities and the province itself. Netherlands recognizes the SHIA as a powerful, recognizable knowledge and innovation network. SHIA is recognizable in the areas of Health, Care, and Well-being, Sustainability, and AI and has actively contributed at reducing health disparities in the region.
