The main concept of the Living Lab is the prevention of accidents at sea, including maritime terrorism as well as establishing a system of navigation, ship reporting system, complete coverage of the radio communication system, establishing a vessel control service in port areas and on the access routes to the ports of the largest passenger and cargo traffic volume, especially as regards dangerous cargoes, improving cooperation with corresponding offices and research activities in the neighbouring countries, namely in the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Italy, in applying the regulations of the system protecting the marine environment against pollution, and application of the Coast Zone Management principles.
