Ovidius Aqua Line Living Lab

Ovidius Aqua Line Living Lab, located on the Danube River in Borcea, Calarasi County, Romania, is dedicated to advancing sustainable aquaculture, focusing on sturgeon. The facility promotes ecological farming and environmental protection, producing high-quality, environmentally friendly products. It features a state-of-the-art indoor fish farm and processing facility, yielding 25 tons annually of sturgeon, trout, and caviar. The lab utilizes high-end IoT equipment for real-time monitoring and control, a backup power supply, modular design fiberglass ponds, and an in-house production unit of concentrated oxygen. Its living lab methodology emphasizes user-centric innovation through co-creation, demonstration, testing, and evaluation of cutting-edge aquaculture solutions.
