My Aloe Olea

My Aloé Oléa is a 25-hectare certified organic farm in Cap Bon, Tunisia, where aloe vera and olive trees are grown side by side through a pioneering intercropping system. Officially accepted into the European Network of Living Labs in Wave 2024, it is only the second Living Lab ever certified in Tunisia. 

The site operates simultaneously as a working farm, a research platform, and a product development environment. In the field, the team tests and refines agroecological practices — monitoring water consumption, soil health, and carbon sequestration in real conditions. The farm’s intercropping system has demonstrated 91.2% water savings compared to the conventional orange farming it replaced. 

Research partnerships with INAT and the University of Galway turn field data into publishable science. Meanwhile, harvested aloe vera and olive oil flow directly into a line of Ecocert and USDA-certified organic skincare products. 

The entire operation is run by a fully female workforce of 6, rooted in the local community.
