Montado Living Lab

The Montado Living Lab is dedicated to fostering sustainable practices that enhance the diverse functions of the Montado agrosilvopastoral system. Its core focus is on improving soil health, conserving and restoring biodiversity, and ensuring socio-economic balance. This innovation hub brings together a wide range of stakeholders, including farmers, researchers, policymakers, associations, and companies. It acts as a real-world environment where new ideas are experimented with and developed together, following co-construction and transdisciplinary approaches. The Montado Living Lab promotes research and shares knowledge through close collaboration between the scientific community and practical application. Research questions are jointly identified and formulated by multiple partners, with solutions explored by researchers and end users from various disciplinary backgrounds. 

This collaborative effort facilitates knowledge sharing, learning, innovation, and technological development to optimise Montado solutions.
