Living Lab Center (Digital Fabrication Laboratory)

Living Lab Centar Sarajevo (LLC) is Bosnia and Herzegovina’s public–private–people innovation platform, co-founded by FabLab B&H (a non-profit RTO) and the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo. Based in Villa Braun – the municipal Center of Excellence in Entrepreneurship – LLC enables citizens, startups/SMEs, schools, academia and public services to co-create, prototype and validate solutions in real urban contexts. Backed by EU and EIT projects and FabLab’s networks, LLC connects Sarajevo with European innovation partners. Our portfolio spans the full innovation cycle: problem framing, co-design sprints, rapid prototyping, field experimentation and impact evaluation. We apply Living Lab methods (explore–co-create–experiment–evaluate) and a quadruple-helix approach, ensuring users meaningfully shape decisions and outcomes. Four thematic labs—Urban Mobility, IoT & sensing, Green Fab Lab, and Immersive Lab—plus FabMobile support hands-on learning and real-life pilots. LLC tackles smart city challenges such as safer streets, air quality, data-driven mobility, digital inclusion, and creative industries. Through open, ethical collaboration and transparent data/IP practices, we strengthen Sarajevo’s innovation ecosystem and help scale proven approaches across the Western Balkans.
