The Living Lab (LL) “Innovative and sustainable models for soil health” was founded in May 2022 with the overall objective to calibrate and introduce sustainable practices of agro-ecosystem management within intensively managed agricultural lands of the Po Valley, as well as monitor, report, and verify the performances towards healthy agricultural soils and carbon farming strategies. This goal is achieved by supporting a multiactor approach with the concomitant involvement of farmers, researchers, experts, and other stakeholders directly engaged in the activities of the LL, especially focused on the development of innovative and sustainable soil management models, associated with preservation and increase of soil organic carbon content in connection with EU MISSION “A Soil Deal for Europe” objectives related to Carbon Farming and on the resources management. Currently the LL is composed of 1 Long Term Experiment, 9 Lighthouse Farms and a growing number of partners.
