Discovery Living Lab has been operating since 2019 as a rural agriculture on-farm living lab – now one of Hungary’s first agroecology-certified living labs, with a mission to advance participatory soil health management, precision agriculture, and agroecological transition across the Carpathian Basin. As a full member of both ENoLL and the EU Agroecology Partnership, we coordinate real-life experiments on thousands of hectares in collaboration with farmers, advisors, researchers, and municipalities. Our work spans cover crop innovation, mycorrhizal fungi monitoring, low-input farming systems, and farmer co-designed field trials. Discovery LL is financially independent and deeply embedded in national and international networks, including the HuMUS EU project and various regional soil initiatives. With a multidisciplinary team and established stakeholder base, we translate scientific evidence into practical outcomes and policy recommendations. We engage local actors through co-creation, living lab methodologies, and training formats tailored to Hungary’s diverse soil types and climate stressors. Our goal is to become a key regional hub for resilient land use, system innovation, and inclusive knowledge co-production.
