EMOTURLab / Canarias Living lab is the flagship Neurotourism Living Lab of an international ecosystem comprising more than 500 Living Labs operating in tourism and hospitality companies and a network of over 20 universities across Europe and beyond. Based at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria / Fundacion Canarias Living Lab (Spain), it bridges research, innovation, and market deployment to accelerate the transformation of tourism through human-centred experimentation.
Recognized by the European Union as a Technology Centre, EMOTURLab supports SMEs, destinations, and public organizations in moving innovations from concept to market by providing applied research and close-to-market services across Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) 3–8.
The lab specializes in Artificial Intelligence, Neurotourism, Neuro-Customer Journey Experience, immersive technologies, sustainability, and behavioural science. Using advanced methodologies such as eye tracking, emotion analysis, biometric measurement, virtual reality, XR, digital twins, intelligent agents, and AI-driven analytics, EMOTURLab helps organizations better understand human behaviour and design more sustainable, engaging, and impactful tourism and hospitality experiences.
Through its extensive Living Lab network, the lab fosters co-creation, experimentation, and knowledge transfer among academia, industry, governments, and citizens in the education, research, tourism, hospitality, gastronomy and customer experience industry.
