REGENERA Living Lab

REGENERA Living Lab embodies a dual vision: the regeneration of urban ecosystems and the empowerment of new generations. Born out of the Multilayered Urban Sustainability Action (MUSA) project, REGENERA is a university-driven Living Lab, transforming an urban green space into a real-life experimentation environment where citizens, public authorities, researchers, industry partners, and students co-create and test innovative solutions for more sustainable cities. The site operates as an open research and innovation infrastructure where interdisciplinary activities in biology, sociology, epidemiology, and energy management generate real-world data on the relationships between urban green spaces, environmental quality, public health, and equitable access to resources.

Current REGENERA projects are facilitated by co-creation workshops, an extensive network of sensors (60+) that provide continuous monitoring of environmental conditions and established methodologies for participant surveys to gauge the ability of urban vegetation to provide ecosystem services that range from clean air to improved perception of our surroundings.

REGENERA aims to contribute actively to the ENoLL network by sharing its experience in transforming regenerated urban spaces into open innovation testbeds that integrate research, education, and community participation.
