Healthy Habitats Living Lab – H2LLab

Healthy Habitats Living Lab (H2LLab) is based at the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia. We help partners understand and improve the environments where people live, move, learn, and work, with a particular focus on how environmental exposures affect health, behaviour, and wellbeing.

Our work combines real-world measurement with participation. In practice, this means working with citizens, communities, cities, researchers, and innovation partners to collect environmental and health-related data, interpret it together, and turn it into tools, evidence, and recommendations that can support better decisions. We are especially strong in personal exposure assessment, citizen science, urban mobility, indoor and outdoor environmental monitoring, biomonitoring, spatial analysis, participatory modelling, and decision-support systems.

H2LLab builds on projects such as URBANOME, ENVESOME, MultiPart, ICARUS, CitieS-Health, FishEUTrust, and RadoNorm-SLO. We are interested in collaborations on urban health, sustainable mobility, exposome research, environmental justice, indoor air quality, community-based monitoring, climate and health adaptation, and data-driven decision support for healthier living environments.
